Supermen (1)
Stanley paused and fingered the ancient, crumbling concrete thoughtfully. The faint aroma of burnt bone wafted up from far below, and he peered over the decrepit parapet, staring five hundred feet down at the broken road bed.
He nodded and clambered precariously up on the wall, and teetered for a moment. A gull screamed overhead, he peered up at it, smiled, thought - why not - and extended his arms, flapping, then leapt into the void. Pivoting in the air, he aimed his head down at the road, watching it suddenly leaping into close focus with a small smile.
Wen Xo watched as the body plunged down, hitting the fractured asphalt with a fluid smack, the head shattering like any canteloupe and spraying its contents around. He picked his way across the ancient lanes to the body, watching his footing carefully in the jagged fragments of road, and toed the body speculatively.
'Stanley, Stanley, you'll never learn, I swear, You must be the stubbornest man alive'.
The mashed face he stared at took on a faint air of annoyed disappointment, then one eye opened and glared up at Xo. 'Bloody, bloody machines. Still failed'

Awk
You feel awkward
you stumble, fumble
your brain doesn't fumble
your fingers fly
light up a thousand screen
taptaptap
and another wave
of adulation,
emulation,
applause,
sweeps across the
comment mire
and a thousand fans
flutter their applause
Some day your awk
will ward away
your fumble will fall
your stumble will stall
the burst of light
that brings
will outshine
even that smile
you stumble, fumble
your brain doesn't fumble
your fingers fly
light up a thousand screen
taptaptap

Chrystal
Fragile,strong,
delicate, sharp,
lovely
and out of reach
bright burning
crystal
of the north
delicate, sharp,
lovely
and out of reach
bright burning
crystal
of the north

A rose for genesis
A rose for genesis
but a petunia for revelations
and she said
I think I'll change religions
become a Christian
like it was oil
in the machine soul
- time for a change,
drop it into the mechanics
and I said you
gotta have faith
(faith-faith-faith, do-wup)
how would you know
you never had none
which is true I guess
and how I got here
with no lubrication
I dont know
all I know is
when I wave my hand
at the light
it goes out
- sometimes! -
and I believe in that
but a petunia for revelations

The moon laughed
we sat, squatting on a solar kerb
and whirled the Way with our hands
giggling in innocent malice
We set conundrums
poised at ninety degrees
to line of sight
The moon laughed
and we reached out
gave some monkeys
delusions of grandeur
and oh look
doesnt this one look emtpyh?
The moon laughed twice
and spat a planet
or two for company
and we stood up reaching
for another galaxy
to casually stuff in our pockets
the moon laughed three times
and we folded ourselves
into a backpack and sat
on the side of a dusty
Australian road.
